More About Saison Dupont

The reference point for the entire saison style, a Belgian farmhouse ale brewed by Brasserie Dupont in Tourpes, and widely regarded as one of the most influential beers in the world of craft and traditional brewing.

In the glass it pours a hazy golden-orange, with a towering, airy white head and explosive carbonation. It looks alive before you even smell it.

The aroma is instantly expressive: lemon peel, orange zest, fresh-cut herbs, cracked pepper and a subtle earthy yeast character. There’s a light bready malt base underneath, but it’s really the yeast that drives everything.

Meet the Producer, Dupont Brewery

Dupont Brewery

Style: Brewery

Brasserie Dupont has spent generations proving that farmhouse beer can be elegant, complex and wildly drinkable without needing to shout about it. Deep in the Belgian countryside, the brewery continues to produce some of the world’s most respected saisons using traditional methods that predate most modern craft beer trends by quite a few centuries. Which probably explains why the beers still feel timeless while half the beer industry desperately reinvents itself every six months.

The brewery’s legendary Saison Dupont remains the benchmark for the style and the beer that countless brewers around the world have tried to imitate ever since. Dry, peppery, citrusy and beautifully effervescent, it somehow manages to feel rustic and refined at exactly the same time. There’s plenty going on in the glass, including spice, soft fruit, earthy yeast character and gentle bitterness, but everything stays incredibly balanced. No gimmicks, no novelty ingredients, just exceptional brewing doing all the heavy lifting.

Dupont’s brewing roots stretch back to an old working farm, and that agricultural history still shapes the character of the beers today. Fermentation is slow, bottle conditioning is taken seriously and the brewery’s approach leans heavily toward patience rather than trend chasing. Alongside saisons, Dupont also produces excellent organic beers, classic Belgian ales and traditional bière de garde styles that all carry the same unmistakable sense of craftsmanship.

Part of what makes Dupont so beloved among beer drinkers is how naturally the beers fit into everyday drinking. They work brilliantly with food, hold up beautifully over long evenings and somehow appeal equally to hardcore beer obsessives and people who simply fancy “something really nice.” Belgian brewing at its absolute best really. Honest, expressive and dangerously easy to keep pouring.
