More About Thierry Richoux Irancy Pinot Noir
More About Thierry Richoux Irancy Pinot Noir
Situated southwest of Chablis, the Irancy appellation received AC status in 1999, reflecting its warmer nineties vintages. The Richoux family, tending Irancy since 1620, exclusively embraced winemaking in the seventies. Thierry, joined by sons Félix and Gabin in 2013, manages 19 organic hectares. Their 2017 Irancy marked a turning point, and a new cellar in 2019 promises further improvements.
The flagship Irancy 2019, 100% Pinot Noir from up to 70-year-old vines, undergoes gentle destalking and a 26-month élevage. Offering zesty red cherry fruit, fine tannins, and a total SO2 of 50mg/l, it represents excellent value in a wine landscape often marked by high prices.
