Champagne Bonnaire is a family-run grower Champagne estate based in the Grand Cru village of Cramant in the Côte des Blancs, one of Champagne’s most respected areas for Chardonnay. Founded in 1932, the domaine has built its reputation around Blanc de Blancs Champagne that reflects the chalk-rich soils, tension and mineral precision associated with Cramant and neighbouring villages such as Chouilly and Oiry.
Still run by the Bonnaire family today, the estate combines traditional Champagne production with a strong emphasis on vineyard expression, long lees ageing and Chardonnay purity rather than heavily blended house styles. The wines are shaped by the cool conditions and chalk-heavy soils of the Côte des Blancs, producing Champagne with freshness, fine mousse and distinctly mineral character.
Champagne Bonnaire is especially known for wines balancing citrus, brioche and white flower aromatics with saline tension and elegant texture. Alongside non-vintage releases, the estate also produces vintage cuvées that highlight the structure and ageing potential of Grand Cru Chardonnay from some of the region’s best vineyard sites.
The domaine has become increasingly appreciated among grower Champagne drinkers looking for wines that sit between classic traditional Champagne and the more terroir-driven modern grower movement. Offering precision, balance and strong vineyard identity without the pricing of many prestige houses, Bonnaire remains one of the standout producers of Blanc de Blancs Champagne in the Côte des Blancs.
